Douglas is the current Tournament Master and also coordinates the MBA Program with Dr. Rene Ordoñez in the School of Business. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and serves as the Initiation Officer for the SOU Chapter. He has served at Southern Oregon University since 2020 and also teaches Applied Statistics, Internet Marketing, and GIS in Business.

Douglas brings a great deal of practical experience to the Tournament and enjoys helping students to succeed by listening and suggesting ways to accomplish goals. He is very approachable, non-judgemental, and open-minded. He can help with nearly every facet of the Tournament and will find expertise elsewhere when needed to help students.

He returned to school and earned his Bachelor and MBA degrees after working for over 25 years in management with retail, manufacturing, wholesale, and service industries. Douglas is an accomplished web designer, graphics artist, and IT systems manager. He has traveled around the country and South America since 1996, working in different management, MIS, and web-design positions. He achieved the Google Ads Top Marketer Award for his team’s work in the 2019 Google Ad Grants Online Marketing Challenge with a non-profit company that provides sustainability planning tools for world governments.

In his free time, Douglas enjoys outdoor adventures with hikes, cycling, camping, and road trips. He still tinkers with gardening, computer repairs, and landscaping projects.

Fun fact: He used to decorate special events around the country using…… BALLOONS!
